Why Letterpress?
Letterpress printing is a centuries-old craft where metal, wood, or polymer type is pressed into paper under significant pressure, creating a tactile impression you can see and feel. Each piece is hand-fed into the antique press, making every card a small work of craftsmanship. The process is labor-intensive and requires technical skill—this is printing as it was done before the digital age, and the results speak for themselves.
Bind your very own copy of The Secret Garden, by Frances Hodgson Burnett. This edition features 28 original drawings of flowers native to Yorkshire by Sarah Maker.
Books in sheets are books printed in signatures for binding. You will receive 312 loose pages with binder’s board that you may use for the covers (no spine piece—the size of this book means it’s probably most appropriate for some kind of hollow back binding, not a flatback). Your book block will be 5”x6.25” before trimming, and you may trim up to a 1/4” off after sewing. The book is printed on 70 pound French Starch Mint Speckletone paper (a very pale, warm green with fiber inclusions).
This edition of The Secret Garden was designed and printed at Editions.
Bind your very own copy of Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, by Mary Shelley. This edition features delicious details sprinkled throughout to delight the book lover.
Books in sheets are books printed in signatures for binding. You will receive 216 loose pages with binder’s board that you may use for the covers (no spine piece—that varies too much based on your sewing). The book is printed on 70 pound Black Licorice Pop-Tone by French Paper with white ink.
This edition of Frankenstein was designed and printed at Editions.
