Reduction linocut is a form of relief printing that uses one block to print
multiple colors. Through a series of progressive cuttings, inkings, and printings, the image emerges while the block is destroyed. A reduction print can never be reprinted.
This class will cover transferring an image to a linoleum
block, carving the image, color mixing and registration, and printing on the
etching press. All materials will be provided. Students will leave the class
with an edition of three to five prints of their image and one print from each of the other participants in the class. Come prepared with a
simple color image that is ready to transfer to a 4”x6” block.
