CLOSED Relief Printing with Reductive Layering Process

In this workshop participants will take images and define the shadows, middle tone and highlights to print a single plate three times and make a small edition of an image with basic tonal shifts. We’ll go over the process of transferring images to linoleum plates and then carve. First to remove the highlights, print, then carve out the middle tones, print, and then remove those middle tones and print in black.
Materials Needed:
-Utility knife or X-acto blade
-Reference image/sketches
-Pencil
-Ruler
-Cutting Mat
-Carving tools
Provided Resources:
Paper
Book Board
Tracing paper
Linoleum
All Classes are held at Editions, located at 6520 5th Ave S #104 Seattle, WA 98108. Go through the red door (or big white door if it’s open) and turn left.

Cancellation Policy
Withdrawals 15 or more days before the beginning of a workshop will receive a full refund of tuition and supply fee, minus a $25 processing charge.
Withdrawals 4-14 days prior to the workshop will receive a 50% refund of tuition and supply fee, minus a $25 processing charge.
No refunds are possible for withdrawals 3 or fewer days in advance of the first day of class, or for no-shows.
Exceptions to this policy are only made for documented medical emergencies.
